JSC Member Conduct

Certain JSC members have publicly castigated and disrespected other JSC members who have raised issues and questions which the critics found irrelevant or perceived as personal disapproval. As an example, please see the email below, which was recently received from a city official.

Notwithstanding the respect and civility issues, if the JSC findings are to be publicly received as independent, fair, and impartial, then members' freedom of speech must not be attacked, abridged, or otherwise compromised. Wasn't the intention to form a committee charged with scrutinizing the process and results and not to advance preconceptions unless validated by study?

RE: JSC Committee

I appointed you to the JSC based on your resume, believing that your experiences would bring skills to the study. I also believed you could be open-minded and work well with the group as we try to make progress. I couldn’t have been more wrong!

You have been blatantly negative about everything, nitpicking at every opportunity, critical of Ben and myself for discussing the study on the radio, constantly sandbagging and setting up road blocks and, seemingly, would like to control all activities of the Committee. I do not feel that you are a good fit for this group....or maybe we are not a good fit for you.

If we tried to live up to your expectations and demands the study would take ten years instead of two and there would be no members left because of the constant exasperation! Do you agree?
